What is the difference between an actively managed and a passively managed ETF?​

The primary difference between an actively managed and a passively managed ETF lies in how the fund’s portfolio is managed and its investment strategy.

1. Passively Managed ETFs

  • Objective: Passively managed ETFs aim to replicate the performance of a specific market index, such as the S&P 500, the NASDAQ-100, or a sector index like the FTSE Global All Cap Index. They do this by holding a portfolio of securities that mirrors the composition of the underlying index.
